AWARD: This course is classified in the Australian Qualification Framework as 'DIPLOMA'. On satisfactory completion of all prescribed Units a 'Diploma of Industry and Services Management' is awarded.

COURSE AIMS: To develop the business management skills required for line Managers and Supervisors.

COURSE DURATION AND STRUCTURE:

Duration: 2 years part-time, 4 Terms per year
From March to November. July start may also be available depending on numbers.

Structure: The course consists of 9 Units.
Each Unit comprises 3-4 Modules. A major project also must be completed each year

The course is also available in a 'Distant Learning' format where students are supplied with course notes and lecture videos for each Module.

COURSE DELIVERY: The course comprises lectures, tutorials, workshops and assignments. Lectures are video taped and students who miss a lecture can borrow tapes from the Campus library. These tapes also provide study support for students.

Detailed course notes are provided for each Unit. Each Unit consists of 3 - 4 modules. Notes contain exercises to be completed and submitted for assessment of each Module. Each Module is self-contained and can be completed in its own right.

A Unit assessment (1.5 hour exam) is conducted at the completion of each Unit.

An alternative to the full Diploma is a Leader Certificate of course completion is available to the off-campus and distance-learning students. The course material is exactly the same, except for the need to sit the exams. The full Diploma can then be attained at the completion of the full course, at a later date.

LECTURES AND TUTORIALS: Year 1 Wednesday 6 pm to 8.30 pm
Year 2 Thursday 6 pm to 8.30 pm

Diploma Course Fees: AU$250 per module, payable in advance, or
AU$220 per Unit for Distant Learning, payable in advance.

Leader Certificate Fee: AU$175 per Module for Distant Learning and off-campus students

RPL: Recognition of prior learning applies.
